Does Dormy Inn Kawasaki allow tattoos? Yes, covered
You can bathe if the tattoo is completely hidden under a cover seal. The size the property allows is the thing to check before you book — allowances differ enough between chains to decide the matter.

The bath
Ogihama no Yu is on the fifteenth and top floor, and the water is the hotel’s own: black water pumped from 450 metres beneath the building, in the indoor tub and in the pot baths on the open-air terrace. The indoor windows face east, so the bath gets the sunrise and, after dark, the lights of the Kawasaki factories. Men get a two-tier dry sauna, women a mist sauna with a television, both with a chilled cold bath and the rooftop for the cool-down. The room is decorated with paintings of the old Kawasaki post town and lamps shaped like the daruma sold at Kawasaki Daishi.
Open 15:00 to 10:00 the next morning; the sauna is off between 01:00 and 05:00. Dormy’s free extras are here: an ice lolly after the bath in the evening and a lactic drink in the morning.
The hotel
386 rooms, the largest of the chain’s Kanto hotels: doubles, queens in three grades, twins in five, and family twins, all on Simmons mattresses with the chain’s own pillow. Check-in 15:00, check-out 11:00, and the buffet breakfast with a local dish.
What is good about it

Getting there
About ten minutes on foot from Kawasaki STN — the JR central east exit or Keikyu Kawasaki — along Tachibana-dori. Kawasaki is one stop from Shinagawa on the Tokaido line and on the Keikyu main line, which also runs to Haneda.

Dormy Inn answers this on every property’s own FAQ page in the same words: refused in principle, but a tattoo that a cover seal hides completely may bathe. The seals come in three sizes — 85×105, 100×140 and 118×172 mm — and the rule is two per guest, so two large ones cover about 400 cm², nearly twice Route Inn’s single seal and more than three times APA’s pair. The Onyado Nono inns are the same company under another name and carry the same answer.
The same FAQ adds two qualifiers that matter: the seals are provided “depending on the facility”, and “stock is limited, so we may not be able to provide them”. Neither is a refusal, but neither is a promise. Bring your own seals of the right size and the rule works in your favour every time; arrive without and you are relying on the drawer at the desk.

Cover the tattoo completely before you go in, with a seal that fits the size the property allows — that figure is in the policy line at the top of this page, and it is the property’s, not ours. Where the seals are sold at the front desk, buy them at check-in rather than at bath time; where they are not, bring your own. A seal that does not cover the whole tattoo counts as no seal, and staff are within their rules to turn you away at the door. Nothing needs declaring, but nothing may show.
