Does Shuhokaku Kogetsu allow tattoos? In a private bath

Private bath only

Kogetsu stands at the water on the north shore, looking across the lake to Mount Fuji, and names its two open-air baths for the red Fuji of winter dawns and the black Fuji of moonlit nights.

Kogetsu publishes no tattoo rule. It has two private open-air baths, Koko and Gekko, with a view of Mount Fuji, at 3,300 yen for 50 minutes; they are for staying guests only and are booked after you arrive. The third-floor corner terrace rooms have an open-air onsen bath of their own.

What happens when you arrive

Skip the shared baths and reserve the private one the way this page describes. Once the door is closed, the bath is yours.

How we know

Confirmed from official site, bath structure, not a tattoo policy (the inn’s onsen and room pages)

Best for: A Fuji-view private open-air bath booked on arrival

Private baths Koko and Gekko: 3,300 yen per group for 50 minutes, 14:30–21:30 (last session ends 22:20) and 6:00–8:30 (ends 9:20), staying guests only, no advance bookings. The large open-air baths, Akafuji for women and Kurofuji for men, face the lake with Mount Fuji beyond and do not swap. The inn says every room looks at Mount Fuji; several room types have an onsen footbath on the balcony, and the third-floor corner terrace rooms have an onsen open-air bath. Kogetsu posts a warning about bookings made through some overseas travel sites.
