Does Dormy Inn Korakuen allow tattoos? Yes, covered
You can bathe if the tattoo is completely hidden under a cover seal. The size the property allows is the thing to check before you book — allowances differ enough between chains to decide the matter.

The bath
Kasuga no Yu is in the basement and, by the chain’s own account, among the largest baths in any of its Tokyo hotels: each side has a hot tub and a warm tub, both big enough to stretch out in without touching anyone, under a painted wall in the manner of a public bathhouse. It is not a spring. Men get a two-tier dry sauna above 95°C with a chilled cold bath beside it; women a mist sauna with a television. There is no outdoor space, and the hotel says so, though it has worked at letting air in.
Open 15:00 to 10:00 the next morning; the sauna is off between 01:00 and 05:00. Dormy’s free extras are here: an ice lolly after the bath in the evening and a lactic drink in the morning.
The hotel
116 rooms — singles, semi-doubles, doubles, twins and queens on Simmons mattresses — plus 42 cabin berths, 28 for men and 14 for women, that the hotel sells as a “secret base”. Check-in 15:00, check-out 11:00, and the chain’s buffet breakfast.
What is good about it
- A big bath with hot and warm tubs, one of the chain’s largest in Tokyo.
- One minute from Kasuga STN, four from Korakuen and Tokyo Dome.
- Cabin berths as well as rooms for a cheaper night with the same bath.
Getting there
Kasuga STN, exits A7 (lift) and A4, is a minute away on the Mita and Oedo subway lines; Korakuen STN on the Marunouchi and Namboku lines is four minutes, and JR Suidobashi twelve. Tokyo Dome is across the road from Korakuen.

A chain rule, with the largest seals of any chain — when they are in stock
Dormy Inn answers this on every property’s own FAQ page in the same words: refused in principle, but a tattoo that a cover seal hides completely may bathe. The seals come in three sizes — 85×105, 100×140 and 118×172 mm — and the rule is two per guest, so two large ones cover about 400 cm², nearly twice Route Inn’s single seal and more than three times APA’s pair. The Onyado Nono inns are the same company under another name and carry the same answer.
The same FAQ adds two qualifiers that matter: the seals are provided “depending on the facility”, and “stock is limited, so we may not be able to provide them”. Neither is a refusal, but neither is a promise. Bring your own seals of the right size and the rule works in your favour every time; arrive without and you are relying on the drawer at the desk.
What happens when you arrive
Cover the tattoo completely before you go in, with a seal that fits the size the property allows — that figure is in the policy line at the top of this page, and it is the property’s, not ours. Where the seals are sold at the front desk, buy them at check-in rather than at bath time; where they are not, bring your own. A seal that does not cover the whole tattoo counts as no seal, and staff are within their rules to turn you away at the door. Nothing needs declaring, but nothing may show.
