Does The Lake Suite Ko no Sumika allow tattoos? In a private bath
The bathtub is on the terrace, the terrace hangs over Lake Toya, and all eighty rooms are built that way, so the question of who else is in the water never arises.
Every one of the eighty rooms has an onsen tub on its own terrace facing the lake, which is the whole reason to book here and the reason a tattoo does not come into it. The house publishes no rule for its eighth-floor big bath, and this site will not read that silence as a yes. There is no day-use admission, so the room bath is the only bath a visitor needs to plan around.

Best for: A tub on your own terrace at the water’s edge, with no shared bath to negotiate
Four room types, 50 to 61 m², all lake view, all with a 温泉露天風呂 on the terrace; ground-floor rooms get a garden terrace instead of a raised one. The big bath and sauna run 15:00–25:00 and 5:00–11:00, and the ryokan states plainly that it runs no day-use bathing. Worth knowing before you plan on the big bath: Toya Sun Palace, the sister hotel under the same company next door, publishes a flat refusal for its own baths, and Ko no Sumika publishes nothing either way.
