Does Kasuitei Ooya allow tattoos? In a private bath
Ooya has watched Mount Fuji and the lake since 1923, by its own count, and it fills the open-air tubs on its guest-room terraces with ordinary hot water by choice, so that anyone told to avoid mineral springs can use them.
Ooya publishes no tattoo rule. It has a private view bath, 50 minutes for 3,300 yen and booked in advance, and rooms with their own open-air tub in hinoki or Shigaraki ware looking over the lake. Those room tubs are ordinary heated water on purpose: the inn says it chose not to use hot spring water so that guests who must avoid mineral water can bathe too.

The inn writes of its room baths: 温泉成分などの制限がある方にも安心してお入り頂ける様、あえて温泉にはしておりません (deliberately not hot spring water, so guests restricted from mineral water can use them safely). The hinoki open-air-bath rooms are on the top floor with a lake view; the Shigaraki tub is sized for one. Bettei Nagisa, one building over (opened May 2023), is a self-catering condominium with a semi-open-air bath facing the lake and no meals. Private view bath: 50 minutes, 3,300 yen, reservation required. Founded in 1923.
