The operator’s own wording, copied from the page linked below. Holding up your phone settles the question faster than explaining it.

Not a chain rule

Candeo does not set this centrally, and that matters more than it sounds. Each sky spa announced its own removal on its own date — 24 May 2023 at Roppongi and at Kyoto Karasuma Rokkaku, 1 May 2024 at Shimbashi — while three of its Osaka-prefecture properties still ask for cover seals, and two more, at Kobe and Nankai Wakayama, take a third route again and set aside a late-night window instead. So there is no “Candeo policy” to rely on. The property’s own page is the only thing that answers the question, which is what this listing links to.

What happens when you arrive

There is nothing to do. Check in, go to the bath. No seal to buy, no measuring, no declaration to make, and no size at which it stops being allowed. If a member of staff does query it, the operator’s own wording is above — showing it ends the conversation without either of you needing the other’s language.

Best for: Late arrivals — Shimbashi is a short hop from Haneda and the Yamanote line

Candeo sets this policy per property, not chain-wide.

Where this sits

Tokyo is where this became possible at all. Eleven hotels in the area now ask for nothing, almost all of them having changed in the last three years, while the city’s large commercial bathhouses have mostly gone the other way and several ban cover seals by name.
