Does Dormy Inn EXPRESS Asakusa allow tattoos? Yes, covered
Tattoos are allowed if up to two cover seals hide them completely, the largest 11.8 cm × 17.2 cm (4.6 × 6.8 in). The bath is men-only Monday to Thursday, so read the schedule before you book.
The hotel's own FAQ says seals are provided “depending on the facility” and that stock is limited, so bring your own of the right size.

The bath
This is where the chain built its first big bath, in 1997, and the top-floor Asahi Yu keeps the original layout: an oddly shaped indoor tub, an open-air space that looks straight at the Sumida River and the Skytree, a two-tier dry sauna, a cold bath without a chiller, and a rest area. It's not a spring. There's a catch that matters more than that. The bath is men-only from Monday to Thursday and alternates between men and women only from Friday to Sunday and on holidays. A woman staying midweek can't use it. Open 3 p.m. to 10 a.m.
The hotel
75 rooms, mostly residential semi-doubles, with a few doubles, queens, Japanese-Western rooms and bunk twins. Check-in is 3 p.m. and checkout is 11 a.m., with the chain's buffet breakfast.
Good to know
- Ice pop after the bath, yogurt drink in the morning. Dormy’s free extras, both here.
- Women staying midweek can use the black-water baths at the two Onyado Nono inns ten minutes away, which are open to guests here.
