Does Onyado Nono Asakusa allow tattoos? Yes, covered
Tattoos are allowed if cover seals hide them completely, and you may bring your own. The inn confirmed it to us by phone in September 2026.
Two seals per guest, in three sizes: 8.5 cm × 10.5 cm (3.3 × 4.1 in), 10 cm × 14 cm (3.9 × 5.5 in) and 11.8 cm × 17.2 cm (4.6 × 6.8 in). The only condition is that nothing shows.

The bath
Ryoun no Yu, in the basement, is filled from the inn's own source: black water with no particular smell, smooth rather than slippery, rich in minerals and, above all, that strange color. Outside the indoor tub, in the open air, are two pot baths to sink into and let overflow. There's a dry sauna with a television, a chilled pot-shaped cold bath, and the cool-down in the open air in the middle of Asakusa. Open 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. the next morning; the sauna is off between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.
The hotel
152 rooms, singles, doubles, queens and twins, with Serta beds and soft Japanese futons on top. Check-in is 3 p.m. and checkout is 11 a.m. The chain's Japanese-Western buffet breakfast with a local dish.
