Does Oshiage Onsen Daikokuyu allow tattoos? Yes!
Tattoos are welcome here, with nothing to cover. The bathhouse says “Tattoos OK” on its own English page.
The line appears twice on the bathhouse's English page, beside the price and again as “Tattoo is ok” in the FAQ. No size limit and no conditions are given.
The bath
The name is not decoration: the water comes from a well sunk 60 years ago under the building, and its analysis came back with hot-spring properties, so the plain white bath is spring water at 42°C on both sides, beside a walking bath and a carbonated bath kept cooler for children and, upstairs, a large open-air bath that doesn’t feel like Tokyo. Two saunas, a far-infrared one and a mugwort steam salt sauna. Open 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays, from 2 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. on Sundays, closed Tuesdays: all night. Adults pay ¥600 for 90 minutes on a weekday or an hour on the weekend, with the sauna wristband extra; towels are ¥130.
Good to know

- Real spring water and a rooftop open-air bath for ¥600.
- Odd days, even days. Which side gets which sauna alternates between the men’s and women’s baths, so check the board if the sauna is why you came.
Getting there
Oshiage Station, which the Hanzomon, Asakusa, Tobu Skytree and Keisei Oshiage lines all reach, is the nearest, and the Skytree itself is ten minutes. JR Kinshicho is 12 minutes. The Yokokawa 3-chome bus stop is a minute away on the To-08 route.
