You can use the bath with your tattoos visible. Nothing to cover, no size limit, and nothing to declare at the desk.

The bath
The claim here is unusual and the operator makes it flatly: every bath in the building uses natural hot spring water, and so do the showers and the taps at the washing stations. It is a soft water, which is what the skin notices. The big open-air bath holds two kettle baths per side and the donburi tubs the place is named after, run through with nano fine bubbles and filtered over bakuhanseki stone. The sauna is the other reason people come: the automatic heat-wave now copied all over Tokyo started here, and there is a fine-bubble cold bath beside it, with a trailer sauna outside. The women’s side was rebuilt in May 2024 with a new sauna and a room-temperature cold bath.
Open 14:00 to 23:00 on weekdays and Saturdays, from 12:00 on Sundays and holidays, last entry 22:30, closed Wednesdays. Adults thirteen and over 600 yen, which is the bathhouse rate rather than a spa one; the sauna is extra. Soap and shampoo from 50 yen, lotion from 100, so you can arrive with nothing.

Getting there
Eleven minutes on foot from Minowa STN on the Hibiya line, or the same from Minami-Senju on the Hibiya line, the Joban line and the Tsukuba Express. It sits on Dote-dori, north of Asakusa.

What happens when you arrive
There is nothing to do. Check in, go to the bath. No seal to buy, no measuring, no declaration to make, and no size at which it stops being allowed. If a member of staff does query it, the operator’s own wording is under “How we know” below — showing it ends the conversation without either of you needing the other’s language.
