Tokyo Yugawara Onsen Manyo no Yu Machida
東京・湯河原温泉 万葉の湯 町田
Does Tokyo Yugawara Onsen Manyo no Yu Machida allow tattoos? In a private bath
The shared baths are restricted, but a private or in-room bath is open to you. You are bathing alone or with your own party, so the communal rule does not apply.
Private baths for anything two seals cannot cover. The communal baths admit tattoos hidden by up to two of the facility’s own cover seals, 11×20 cm each, under a notice of 12 September 2025 — and refuse anything larger, or any seal you brought yourself. Above that limit the answer is the eighth floor: rooms with their own open-air bath, and a reservable kashikiri bath, all on the Yugawara spring water the place trucks in every day.

The bath
The water is Yugawara’s, brought up from the spring by tanker every day — the same arrangement as the chain’s Toyosu branch, and the reason the place can call itself an onsen inside Tokyo. The shared baths, open-air bath, saunas and hydrogen bath are on the sixth floor, with a foot-bath garden and stone-bed sauna on the seventh.
The eighth floor is what this listing is for: rooms with their own open-air bath, for two, with a shower and a six-mat tatami room or a Western twin behind it, and a kashikiri bath on the same floor that any guest can reserve. A special room adds a hinoki indoor bath and dinner served in the room.
The hotel
A large day-use spa that also sleeps guests, in Tsuruma on the Machida side of the Yokohama line, with a free shuttle from Minami-Machida Grandberry Park and Machida stations and two hundred parking spaces. Overnight guests get the run of the building — the relaxation rooms, the restaurants, the six-thousand-book reading lounge — and parking is free for twenty-four hours.

What happens when you arrive
Do not use the shared baths — the rule there is a refusal, and the private bath is the whole reason this listing exists. Reserve it the way the property requires: the notes on this page say whether that is a time slot booked ahead, a request at check-in, or a phone call. Once the door is closed nobody is checking anything.

Best for: A room with its own open-air onsen bath inside Tokyo, for a tattoo no seal will cover
The seals are sold at the desk and are the only ones accepted. Day-use admission sells only through the facility’s own storefront, which is why the day-use bath alone could not be listed; the rooms are on Agoda. The chain’s Toyosu and Yokohama branches are listed under cover seal on the same rule.
