Does Narita no Meisen Yamato no Yu allow tattoos? Yes!
You can use the bath with your tattoos visible. Nothing to cover, no size limit, and nothing to declare at the desk.
Admitted with nothing to cover, and the facility says so in writing. Its own FAQ page states that people with irezumi or fashion tattoos may use it, and explains why: it sits beside Narita Airport, Japan’s front door, and takes the view that admitting tattoos is the reasonable international rule. Confirmed again by telephone on 7 September 2026 — no restriction at all.
The bath
Eight open-air baths, large and small, including one built from natural rock, a jacuzzi and a barrel bath, looking out over Boso farmland that the operator describes as changing like a painting through the seasons. Indoors there are four more, filled with the black-brown source water inherited from the old Narita Onsen, which the facility lists for neuralgia, muscle pain, cuts, burns and chronic gynaecological complaints.
There is a dry sauna with a television, a cold bath and shower beside it, and a radiant-heat room where you lie on a warmed tiled bed. Three private open-air baths with a view can be reserved as rooms of their own.
The hotel
Day-use only, open 10:00 to 22:00 every day of the year. Admission is 1,000 yen on weekdays and 1,100 yen at weekends and on holidays; elementary-school children pay 600 yen, and children below that age are not admitted. It is a car or taxi journey from Narita station rather than a walk, which is the one real cost of coming here.

What happens when you arrive
There is nothing to do. Check in, go to the bath. No seal to buy, no measuring, no declaration to make, and no size at which it stops being allowed. If a member of staff does query it, the operator’s own wording is under “How we know” below — showing it ends the conversation without either of you needing the other’s language.

Adults-oriented: children below elementary-school age are not admitted at all, and the whole building is non-smoking. The restaurant floor closed in September 2026, so plan food elsewhere.
