The hotel’s own AI concierge, asked on 7 September 2026, says there are no tattoo restrictions at Izumi Tenku no Yu, the rooftop bath on the 12th floor of the same building. Nothing on any written page states this, and the concierge did not answer a follow-up about size.
The bath
One bath serves both hotels: Izumi Tenku no Yu, on the twelfth floor of the Spa City building, shared with the Premier next door. From the Grand you reach it by taking the dedicated onsen lift from the sixth floor. It is a real spring — the operator’s own well, an iodine-bearing sodium chloride strong-salt water, heated and filtered — and the two sides are named for the view: the women’s bath is Fujimi no Yu, for Mount Fuji, and the men’s is Gin’yoku no Yu, the silver wings, for the aircraft on the aprons below.
Beside the open-air bath are an indoor bath facing the city, a hot tub, a carbonated bath and jet baths, and two saunas: a dry one and a cooler herbal steam room. A stone-bed sauna area runs alongside — black germanium, lava stone and rock salt, with a cold room called Yuki to finish — for 800 yen on top and ages twelve and up.
It is open around the clock, except that nobody bathes between 10:00 and 12:30 while it is cleaned. Guests of either hotel pay 2,500 yen a night and can go in and out as often as they like during the stay. Some room rates include that and some do not, so check what you booked. Towels are 200 yen from the machine in the changing room if you arrive without one.
The hotel
The larger of the two, with twelve room types and a deliberate lean towards families and groups: rooms with three or four beds, Japanese-Western rooms sleeping four on two beds and two futons, and a 42 m² deluxe Japanese-Western room, the tatami ones laid so you take your shoes off at the door. Simmons beds throughout, Grohe rain showers, and ReFa shower heads, dryers and facial rollers in some rooms.
What is good about it
- Fuji from the women’s bath, aircraft from the men’s, twelve floors up.
- Inside the terminal building, so a bath before a flight costs you no travel time.

Getting there
Directly connected to Terminal 3 at Haneda, the international terminal, so you never step outside — which is the whole argument for staying here. The bath is upstairs in the same complex, reached by the onsen lift from the sixth floor. One thing older guides get wrong: the free shuttle buses to Tokyo Disney Resort, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara and the other terminals were withdrawn in July 2025. Use the monorail or the Keikyu line from the terminal instead.

What happens when you arrive
There is nothing to do. Check in, go to the bath. No seal to buy, no measuring, no declaration to make, and no size at which it stops being allowed. If a member of staff does query it, the operator’s own wording is under “How we know” below — showing it ends the conversation without either of you needing the other’s language.

Guests with tattoos can use the public bath in 'Izumi Tenku no Yu - Haneda Airport', located on the 12th floor of the same building as the hotel. There are no restrictions for guests with tattoos.

Neither the bath operator’s own site nor either hotel’s FAQ mentions tattoos — re-checked on 7 September 2026 — although the Haneda terms drop the refusal clause that the same operator’s Ariake property still carries. The permission quoted above comes from the hotels’ own AI concierge, on their own site, asked at each hotel separately on 7 September 2026. Asked whether size makes a difference, the concierge repeated its answer rather than addressing it, so a very large piece is worth confirming at the desk before you undress. Because the bath is shared, the same answer covers guests of the Premier next door, and its concierge was asked separately and said the same thing.
