Treat Yuraku and the garden open-air bath as closed. What is open is the room: in the Hosyutei wing the operator says every room has a stone open-air bath, and the Toyotei wing sells rooms plumbed with the moor spring, usable all night. The shared bath Yuraku runs 13:00 to 01:00 and 05:00 to 10:00 (from 13:30 Monday and Thursday), with a garden open-air bath called Taki-tsubo-no-yu holding a standing bath, a lying bath and a shallow bath. Sauna is 85°C with a HARVIA Cilindro stove, Tokachi bakuhanseki stones and an auto-löyly every ten minutes, and an 18°C cold bath. Day use is 2,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for elementary age and under, 13:00 to 21:00, no reservation, towels lent free, and it is the part of the hotel the tattoo line is attached to. Booking.com carried a notice on 2026-09-18 that the sauna is out of use during a partial renovation of the public bath, with no restart date. Spring is a sodium chloride and bicarbonate water, pH 7.9, 54.8°C at the source, 670 L per minute.

Sanyoan

三余庵

Sanyoan publishes no tattoo rule of its own, and its sister wings under the same company refuse tattooed bathers in their large baths, so read nothing into the silence here. The answer is structural: the operator says every room has the moor spring piped in, source-fed, two of them with an open-air tub and nine with a cypress tub. The small shared bath Fugetsu, which swaps between men and women overnight, is the part to leave alone.

Best for: A couple who want a source-fed cypress tub in the room and a dinner cooked for a house of eleven rooms

Eleven rooms: two with an open-air bath, nine with a cypress bath, all on the moor spring and all source-fed. The shared bath Fugetsu has a cypress bath and a glass-mosaic bath in Italian tile, open 15:00 to 10:00 with the men’s and women’s sides swapped, and the operator states it does not take day-use bathers. Same spring as the parent hotel, sodium chloride and bicarbonate, pH 7.9.

Tokachigawa Moor Onsen Seijyakubow

十勝川モール温泉 清寂房

No tattoo rule appears anywhere on this operator’s site, and none is needed for the room. All 24 rooms have a source-fed moor-spring open-air bath on a terrace of their own, so a tattooed guest can bathe from arrival to checkout without entering a shared room. There is also a shared bath with a löyly sauna, and since nothing is published about it, treat it as unanswered.

Best for: A guest who wants a private open-air moor tub attached to a 51-square-meter room on a single-story compound with no day visitors at all

Opened 2022. Single-story building with rooms ringing a courtyard, four room types (north standard 51 m², east superior 51 m², west deluxe 51 m², south executive 64 m²), Simmons queen beds, and a shower booth beside the open-air tub. The spring is a simple alkaline moor water, 100 percent source, and the operator states plainly that it takes no day-use bathers and no building tours. Elementary school age and above only. Check-in 15:00 to 19:00, checkout 11:00. 24 outdoor parking spaces, one per room.

Kangetsuen

十勝川温泉 観月苑

The refusal here is blunt and it is printed in the day-use block of the hot spring page: tattooed visitors, gang members and drunks are firmly refused admission. It is worded as admission to the building rather than to the bath, so anyone booking a room should say up front that they have tattoos. What the hotel sells that answers the question is the top floor: four view suites and ten more rooms with an open-air moor-spring tub of their own, source-fed.

Best for: A river view from a private tub on the fifth floor, with the wide Tokachi running past below

The four top-floor view suites are named Suigetsu (wood-modern, Japanese-Western, 53 m²), Meigetsu (an oval pot tub, 56 m²), Fugetsu (a round pot tub, two tatami rooms, 56 m²) and Keigetsu (a cypress tub, 56 m²). Below them are seven 8-tatami rooms for two, three 10-tatami rooms for four and some Japanese-Western rooms, all with an open-air tub. The operator is specific about what is and is not spring water: the room open-air baths and the shared open-air bath are free-flowing spring, diluted because the source is hot, while the utaseyu, the walking bath and the lying bath in the big bath are ordinary tap water. Shared bath 13:00 to 01:00 and 04:00 to 09:00. Day use is 2,000 yen for adults and 700 yen for ages one through elementary.

Obihiro Natural Hot Spring Fukui Hotel

帯広天然温泉 ふく井ホテル

Fukui Hotel publishes no tattoo rule for its shared bath, so that bath stays unanswered. What it does publish is two room types, Onsen Premier Double and Onsen Premier Twin, whose bathroom is filled with the hotel’s own moor spring at full strength, free-flowing and unheated, for the whole stay. Book one of those and you never have to ask anyone.

Best for: A four-minute walk from Obihiro Station to a room with undiluted moor spring running into your own tub

The two onsen rooms are 28 m², a 160 cm double or two 120 cm beds. The hotel draws its own well and says the water is 100 percent source, unheated, free-flowing, alkaline simple spring at 45°C at the wellhead. The shared bath is small, 18 men and 10 women at a time, open 15:00 to 10:00 the next morning with towels stocked in the changing room and a hot Finnish sauna. 101 rooms in ten types, including tatami rooms. Parking 700 yen a night.
