Most of these changed recently rather than never having had a rule, which is why older guidebooks and forum threads still describe the opposite. Each entry below names the page the policy was read on, and where the operator states it in Japanese, that wording is quoted verbatim.

There is nothing to do. Check in and go to the bath: no seal to buy and no size at which it stops being allowed. If a member of staff does query it, the operator’s own wording is on each listing under “How we know”. Show it.
